Zoom in on a map without gray boxes?

When Neongeo is in the map screen and I zoom in where it hasn't already downloaded map tiles at a higher zoom level, it shows gray boxes until it has downloaded those map tiles.

c:geo does it a bit differently. When you zoom in, that app shows pixelated map tiles first and replaces those with detailed map tiles as it downloads.

Could Neongeo handle a zoom-in transition the same way as c:geo? I like that effect and it is not as jarring as showing a bunch of gray boxes.

I would really like this feature too - it is good especiallly in areas with bad/no cellullar signal
