This page contains most of the settings available to customize your Neongeo experience.
Online - Toggles whether Neongeo is allowed to use the network for gathering data. Turning this off can be helpful if you have a limited data plan … however you will not be able to download live data unless you are in Wifi coverage.
Electronic Compass - Toggles whether to use the device's built-in compass. GPS data will still be used for heading while moving quickly (i.e. while driving).
External SD Card - Toggles whether to save most data (i.e. map tiles, cache data) to a SD card instead of the phone's built-in memory.
Units - Select whether Imperial or Metric units are used.
Coordinates - Select whether the typical Decimal Minutes format or Decimal Degrees format is used.
Dates - Select the format of the date to be used.
Hide Cachelist - Toggle whether the cache list on the bottom of the map gets hidden automatically. List reappears when a cache icon on the map is selected.
Auto Waypoints - If ticked, the additional waypoints for a cache will only be displayed when the cache is set as target. (Is this correct???

)
Standard Icons - Toggle whether the standard geocaching.com icon set is used instead of the Neongeo icon set
Cachelist Size - Select how many caches are shown in the list at the bottom of the map {2/3/4/5}
Compass Size - Select the size of the compass that shows at the top of the map when a cache is set as a target {Small/Medium/Large}
Radar Type - Select the default type of navigation aide that opens in the
Tracking View when you tap the center of the compass on the map. Choose Radar (user at center) or Homing (target at center) or Compass as default and whether North or Track is up on map for Radar and Homing. Note that tapping the center of the Target View again rotates though the options.
Tap-n-Hold Threshold - Select the sensitivity of movement on the screen for Tap-n-Hold actions. If this is set too low, the map may “wiggle” instead of getting the tap-n-hold pop up options.
Screen Orientation - Select the screen orientation options {Use phone defaults/Lock the map to portrait/Lock all to portrait}
Use Wakelock - Select if/when the screen stays illuminated {Off (screen blanks after inactivity, saves battery)/Smart (screen stays on when Auto-follow is activated)/Always (screen stays on when in map view)}
Show Status Bar - Toggle whether the phones status bar is always shown at the top in Map View
Toast Messages - Toggle whether you want to click OK on messages or not. Error messages still need to be clicked.
Follow Me is a feature added in v1.127 that allows users of Neongeo to see each other's locations on the map and in the User Tab on the Geocaches Page. This feature also allows users to send messages to each other within Neongeo.
Activate 'Follow Me' - Toggle to turn on the Follow Me feature
Icon - Select the icon that is used for you on the map
Clutter Coordinates - Select the accuracy of the coordinates that are sent to other users {Show Exact Position/Light Clutter/Heavy Clutter} Note that exact coordinates may not be desired if you are finding multis or puzzles or do not want other uses to identify your home for example.
Update Interval - Select the frequency that your position is updated {2/5/10/30/60 minutes} Note that longer intervals will save battery life.
These options allow customization of what map servers / local map databases are available to be selected from the map view options.
These are the settings used to determine what caches are downloaded by the Auto Download and Quick Download (Blue cube on Map Page) features.
Max Logs Per Geocache - Select the maximum number of the logs allowed for each cache {5/10/20/30}
Auto Cache Download - If this is enabled, every five minutes Neongeo will automatically download basic cache data for caches near your position if you have moved at least 500 meters (1641 feet) from your last position. This is similar to the Live Map in other apps.
Geocache Types - Select the type of caches to include in the download {Traditional/Multi/Mystery/Other}
Include Found - Toggle to select whether your found caches are included
Include Owned - Toggle to select whether your owned caches are included
Include Disabled - Toggle to select whether disabled caches are included
Save Battery - Toggle to select whether the GPS and sensors are shut down when the screen is off
Save Offline Maps - Toggle to select whether map tiles are cached locally on your phone. This option allows the local map tiles to be accessed more quickly than from the network or when out of network range and can lower network data usage.
Smooth Compass - Select the amount of averaging done on the electronic compass to smooth the pointer {Off/Weak/Medium/Strong}
Map Memory Cache Size - Select the maximum amount of temporary RAM devoted to saving map tiles locally {1/2/4/8
MB}. This limit only applies to RAM used in the phone's internal memory. Permanent storage of maps on the SD card has a limit of ~65,000 tiles and no file size limit.
Max POIs in Memory - Select the maximum number of caches that can be saved locally (1000/2000/4000/5000}
Max POIs on Screen - Select the maximum number of caches that are shown on the screen at the same time {100/200/400/500}
Max Download Threads - Select the maximum simultaneous threads for downloading map tiles {1/2/3/4}
Bluetooth GPS - Toggle whether to use an external GPS receiver when available. Note that if 3rd party software is used to connect the Bluetooth GPSr to the phone, the external GPS data appears to come from the internal GPS to Neongeo; therefore this option should be left unchecked.
